Shattawale (@shattawalegh) Sets Record With IRAWMA Award

The 35th International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA) , which was held yesterday, October 2 2016 , at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts in Fort Lauderdale / Coral Springs, Florida has finally come to a halt with surprising award winners and blissful stage performances .

IRAWMA seeks to acknowledge and honor the accomplishments and contributions of reggae and world music artists, including: songwriters, performers, promoters and musicians have finally been unleashed.

At the end of the graceful event, Shatta Movement’s spearhead Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr , known in showbiz circles as Shatta Wale was able to top up the tally of awards he has earned so far.

The African dancehall entertainer Shattawale , won the BEST AFRICAN SONG/ENTERTAINER on the night of the event over contenders like ; Flavor and Wizkid from Nigeria, and Congolese musicians; Kofi Olomide and Maitre Gims .

Shattawale was nominated for the Best Music Video category and Best African Song/Entertainer category in this year’s IRAWMA which he won one. This year amounts to the third time the Kakai hitmaker has been nominated and rewarded at the awards ceremony making him the only Ghanaian dancehall musician making his way through the awards scheme three times.

However the dancehall musician sets a record with this newly earned award as he happens to be the first Ghanaian artiste to be nominated at the IRAWMA three consecutive times. Also he is the first Ghanaian musician to earn a nomination at the IRAWMA and again the first Ghanaian artiste to perform at such a graceful and global event.

Ginger Caramel drops new single titiled WOBEDI AKYE

Souad Baaba Andoh known as "Ginger Caramel" has released a new single titled "Wobedi Akye ft Asubonten", which talks about, love, relationships and patience. According to the upcoming artist, her song which features Asubonten, a leader and founder of Asubonten Music Gang (ASMG), was inspired by the imaginations and happenings in our daily lives. Asubonten finally decides when to release "We Don't Play"

It's been a while we heard a new song from the ASMG frontier Asubonten since his last release in 2016 March "yenko flaggStaff House". He was to release a new banger named WE DON'T PLAY late last year but due to some issues we can't put out here he paused the release and made it clear that he would release it at the appropriate time, We've been waiting for his voice to be heard publicly since early January but to no avail.
